General Manager – Commercial Landscape Maintenance

As General Manager – Commercial Landscape Maintenance you will combine your analytical and technical knowledge with practical field experience to optimize this branch for this high-quality landscape company.
Operations:   Manage and optimize all operations to ensure significant profitability and growth.
  • Plan and manage all projects to ensure work is according to contract and plans, safely, within budget, on time, profitably, according to high standards and to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Set strategic and tactical plans.
  • Manage day to day operation including scheduling and organizing crews, account managers and technicians and holding them accountable.
  • Provide hands on management spending most of each day visiting and optimizing job sites, providing quick resolution to anticipated and unanticipated problems, lending your professional and technical expertise and meeting with customers.
  • Create and implement best practices effectively using technology, labor, fleet and equipment with key performance metrics.
  • Continually improve company offerings, operations, crews, equipment and projects to maximize revenue and profitability while ensuring overall quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate and timely reports.
  • Ensure organized, clean, safe and efficient work environments that include clean and organized sites, office and yard and well-maintained equipment, vehicles, tools, and safety gear. 
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge and applied practical expertise of commercial landscape maintenance with ability to roll up sleeves to work and train crews and technicians when necessary becoming the “go to” person for professional and technical landscape maintenance.
  • Prompt investigation and resolution of all complaints and emergencies.
Customer Service:  Demonstrate a high regard for customer service, client relationships, retention, and profitability to ensure long term growth.
  • Become the “go to” person ensuring high customer relations, retention, renewals and enhancements.
  • Ensure highest customer satisfaction through regular quality control site visits, regular and continuous communications with customers to improve relationships and prompt responses to all client communications resolving complaints in a professional manner.
  • Research, analyze and stay ahead of the market, customers, industry and competitors with early identification and recommended plans of action for customer needs, trends, new service/product offerings, and challenges.
Leadership Hire, train, develop, motivate and mentor to form high performing, high morale, result-oriented teams and crews focused on high quality commercial landscape maintenance, safety, productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Share our passion for performance, customer service, growth, revenue and profitability by leading, training and motivating each person to maximize their contribution, be a member of a high-performance team, be a thought leader and continuously improve projects and the work environment.
  • Communicate and collaborate with senior management and sales.
Financial:  Manage P&L, budgets, reports, schedules, material, labor, administration, A/R, purchasing, equipment, tracking performance and implementing corrective action to increase revenue and profitability.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of successful experience managing a commercial landscape maintenance branch with proven results and best practices for optimizing operations, training, scheduling, profitability, safety, efficiency, customer service and quality commercial landscape maintenance projects.
  • A four-year degree in Landscape or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding established business goals, creating and executing plans, implementing key performance metrics, problem solving, decision making and strong financial and business acumen.
  • A proven track record of managing profitable branches that completes projects on time, within budget, safely, profitably and to the satisfaction of the client.
